After Bill Richardson had declared an end to his Democratic Presidential campaign, this supporter website had transformed into a LOST fan site. We were well received by many readers and encouraged along the way.
During the two months hiatus from politics, we had a chance to go in depth and independently research the remaining candidates.
We found of course that the Republican Party did not cover our views. We will say that Mike Huckabee was a very amiable candidate (Bill Richardson and Mike Huckabee were friends, even though they were from different parties).
As far as Ron Paul, he was popular in the Internet realm but he was also very distant from our views. He has only received less then 6 percent in each primary or caucus. As far as the others, they are self explanatory in their own way.
In the Democratic field, we were eventually left with Mike Gravel, Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton.
Mike Gravel is a highly regarded and a very amiable candidate, but he has garnered less then 1 percent support in various States since January. It does not even appear that he has more then 5 delegates, if that much at all.
The difficult choice was left between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. We were torn between the two.
Barack Obama, has generated much excitement among voters with his inspiring speeches, youthful appearance and talk of much-needed change in Washington. His challenge though is to turn those words into substance and policies that can change America.
Hillary Clinton, we feel, is the only one left who has the ability to bring about change and experience to America.
Yes, there are marks here and there on each of their records and policies that we didn't necessarily agree with, but we have seen her capabilities and her track record.
We were also motivated by a Texas Town hall that was held in Austin, Texas.
One of her supporters who was 91 years old, gave a heartfelt reason about why she voted for her:
She said that she had meticulously followed Hillary's political career. She saw Hillary climb up the rough side of the mountain of life. She saw her courage, strength, dignity, and patience to climb that mountain with determination, and she got to the top polished like gold.
And she went to prove her own success. The supporter was elated that she lived to see the opportunity that America had the chance to vote for either a female president, or an African American president. She said she had looked past all of that. She looked at to what our needs are.
She said that America is at the foot of that mountain. And We need someone who has experience, and is ready, and willing and able to bring America back up about to be polished like gold.
It is because of this We have decided to openly endorse Hillary Clinton and once again cover politics on this website.
For our LOST fan readers, we will still cover the episodes. LOST content will still be featured, but on a different page of this website from here on out. Political content will not be featured alongside LOST content unless an overwhelming majority responds and wants us to do so.
