The Abomination of Desolation?
Video: "Obama, Jerusalem is NOT for Sale!"
In the above YouTube video published by the Associated Press we can hear a Israeli man shouting painstaklingly in the background, "Obama, Jerusalem is is not for sale!"
Commentary:
When I originally read the story about this, I thought the man shouted only once that "Jerusalem is not for sale!" instead it's over a period of 20 minutes. The above video has been condensed though to about a minute and twenty seconds.
Drudge Report:
OBAMA VISITS WESTERN WALL IN OLD CITY JERUSALEM... ARRIVES AT 5:08 AM LOCAL TIME [10:08 PM ET]... SUNRISE... SHOUTING MAN: 'JERUSALEM IS NOT FOR SALE, OBAMA'... MOB SCENE... CHAOS... BOWING HIS HEAD IN PRAYER... PLACES NOTE IN WALL... POSES FOR PHOTOS... LOTS OF SHOUTING... LEAVES 5:20 AM... DEVELOPING...
AP report:
Orthodox men at the wall for morning prayers ran down the steps to get a look at Obama. Many reached out to shake his hand, although one booming voice called out, "Obama, Jerusalem is not for sale!"
Obama's visit lasted less than 15 minutes.
Other notes.
One of banners has the star of David and the other of course has the "Change" Campaign logo.
From right to left the letters on the banners one of the photos is equivalent to:
"hmbua krb" ("Barack Obama" as his name is spelled there in Hebrew letters).
According to Wikipedia:
"In Judaism, the Western Wall is venerated as the sole remnant of the Holy Temple. It has become a place of pilgrimage for Jews, as it is the closest permitted accessible site to the holiest spot in Judaism, namely the Even ha-shetiya or Foundation Stone, which lies on the Temple Mount."
In Christianity:
In this classic scene (in the below YouTube video) we find Jesus chasing the money changers and merchants from the Temple grounds. Imagine what would have been the outcome had a presumptive nominee been caught in his midst using the Western Wall for photo op decorated with campaign banners.
Creepy Subtext:
The phrase "abomination of desolation" is found in three texts in the book of Daniel, all within the literary context of apocalyptic visions.
Daniel 9:27 (ASV) "And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease; and upon the wing of abominations [shall come] one that maketh desolate; and even unto the full end, and that determined, shall [wrath] be poured out upon the desolate."
