LOST: Season 4 Episode 5 - "The Constant"

Thursday, February 28, 2008

This was live-blogged so if there are any errors they will be corrected in time.

The opening scene involves Sayid, Desmond, and Frank Lapidus as they are flying in a helicopter.
Frank tells them that he is using a cheat sheet created by Daniel Faraday.

They ask if he doesn't know how to get to the boat. He says that he knows exactly how to get there but he insists on using the cheat sheet. They continue to fly into a thunderhead.

Lightning flashes. Desmond appears to flash back in time. He is in boot camp and wakes up from a lucid dream. He tells them that he had a vivid dream that he was in a helicopter in a storm.

They are out training in the rain. He flashes back to being in the helicopter and is completely lost and disoriented.

They end up landing the helicopter on the freighter. Frank tells them that they are survivors of Oceanic 815. Frank and Sayid are completely fine. Desmond is completely disoriented and continues to tell the crew that he doesn't know anyone.

Desmond ends up flashing back to the past to the boot training camp.

He tells a friend that he has "jumped" to a boat to an unknown location.

Desmond flashes back to the freighter. The two crewman take him to the sickbay. They lock the door. Desmond encounters another man locked up with him and asks him if it is happening to him too.

The scene cuts out.

The scene cuts back in.

Sayid is walking aboard the freighter and watches Frank converse with one of the crew members.

Sayid calls Jack. He tells them that something happened on the flight and that Desmond is in sick bay. Daniel tells him that someone people get "confused". Juliet asks if he means amnesia. Daniel says no.

The scene flashes back to the freighter. The man that is locked up with Desmond tells him that he last remembers being on a ferris wheel. A doctor walks in and injects the man that is locked in with Desmond.

The scene flashes back the boot camp. Desmond is on a pay phone calling Penny. She does not want him to make contact with her. As the doctor flashes the light in Desmonds eye he continues the conversation as if he were talking on the phone.'

We find out that the name of the boot camp is "Camp Millar". Frank and Sayid break into the room and hand Desmond the satellite phone and he talks with Daniel Faraday.

Daniel asks him what year does he think it is. Desmond says it is 1996. Daniel tells him the he needs to get on a train and travel to Oxford University to the Queens College University physics department.

The scene cuts out.

The scene flashes back to Camp Millar. Desmond ends up going to Queens College. He encounters Daniel Faraday he tells him the info he was given. He tells him about the time paradox.

We find out that Eloise turns out to be a lab rat. He sets up his lab equipment. The laser shines upon Eloise. We find out that Eloise was transported from the future to the past
because Daniel was going to teach the rat the maze an hour from the time they were at.

Desmond flashes back to the freighter.

We find out that the man's name is George Minikowski. He is the ship's communication officer. He tells him he knows about Desmond because every so often a light flashes on his console and a woman (Penny) is always on it.

The scene goes back to Queen's college. Eloise dies from a brain aneurysm. Daniel tells him about a constant, that something has to be the same. It has to be similar and something that he really cares about.

The scene goes back to the freighter. Desmond falls. Desmond notices that George's nose is bleeding.

Desmond walks into a auction. We see Penny's father. They are bidding on the journal that was from the Black Rock. We find out that this journal was assigned Lot number 2342 (Note: 2342 was also the hotel room number that Hurley originally stayed in prior to boarding Oceanic flight 815). Penny's father is bidder 755.

Desmond and Penny's father converse. Penny's father gives him her address. Desmond flashes back to the freighter.

Sayid, Desmond and George go to the radio room.

George dies from a brain aneurism because he was not able to go back in time.

The scene flashes back to London. Desmond walks up to this address:

423 Cheyne Walk

Penny answers the door and they have a brief arguement.

Desmond tells her that he will leave her alone if she gives him her number, that he will only answer it on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2004, 8 years in the future.

We find out that Penny's number in London is 7946-0893.

The scene flashes back to the freighter.

Sayid calls 7946-0893 and hands the phone to Desmond.

The phone rings and rings and rings and rings. No answer. Desmond refuses to hang up.

Someone answers the phone.

It is Penny.

Penny remembers that 8 years ago that Desmond told her of this information. We find out that she is very aware of the Island. The battery dies out. Desmond tells Sayid that that was more then enough time for him to accomplish what he needed to do.

What we have probably learned is that the "Constant" idea behind this episode probably means that "Love Transcends All Time".

The scene goes to the beach where Daniel Faraday is flipping through his journal in a red boxed area we see that Daniel had written that "Desmond Hume" is his constant.

LOST: What to expect in the near Future

Via Wired, Via ABC, Lost executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof reveal these previews:

• The identity of the body in the coffin from Jack's flash-forward will be revealed.
• By the end of the seventh episode all the Oceanic 6 survivors will be revealed, answering the question as to whether Ben and baby Aaron are considered part of the Oceanic 6.
• You won't find out who or what Jacob is until the final two seasons.
• The five new episodes the producers are set to shoot now that the writers strike is over will emphasize the original cast, including Michael, who finally returns.

Also, Jorge Garcia (Hurley) says that episode seven will be the MOST SHOCKING episode yet.

Future Episode spoilers (highlight everything between the square brackets to reveal the hidden text):

[

Hurley reveals in a blog post that, "As shocking as these scripts have been for us nothing as [sic] shocked us more than the end of episode 7." OMG! Something to note, episode seven will be the last episode before a six week hiatus (yeah, because they need another break!) so a cliffhanger won't be surprising. Spoilers coming up, so turn your eyes away if you don't want to know anything about the seventh episode.

The episode, titled "Ji Yeon", features Sun and Jin's storyline off-island, though it's unclear whether or not this will be a flashback or flashforward. Given how each episode in the season so far has had flashforwards I'm assuming Sun and Jin are the final two survivors that head back to the mainland. This is even more probable since this episode also features Juliette revealing "startling news" to Jin when Sun threatens to join Locke. I'm guessing she tells Jin that if he wants Sun to live he has to take her and the baby off the island.

The episode also features stunts by Grindhouse alum Zoë Bell. Will she be scissor kicking with Sayid on the freighter or will she be in a flash- back or forward?

I'm pretty sure Ji Yeon is a popular Korean name for girls, which makes me think Sun gets off the island and has her baby, which she names Ji Yeon... Strangely, I googled the name and found a Korean actress by the same name who had a bit part in the K-horror film, Memento Mori, which is Latin for, "remember that you are mortal". Coincidence?

Warning! The below includes 2 new, (1 old) sneak peeks from the upcoming episode "The Constant". If you prefer to catch up on the previous episode "Eggtown", you can do so by clicking here.

Otherwise scroll down.

This was the initial sneak peek that everyone should have been able to see upon the end of Season 4 Episode 4 "Eggtown".

The first sneak peek involves Jack, Juliet, Charlotte and Daniel. They are on the beach. Jack and Juliet are pacing around. They want to know where the helicopter went. They think they something that they don't, for the very reason that Charlotte isn't worried at all for their whereabouts. Daniel then starts to give in. Charlotte says not to confuse them.

Daniel: "Where your perception of how long they've been gone, isn't not necessarily how long they've actually been gone."

It should be fine if Frank flew the bearing that he was told to. If not there might be side effects.

In the second sneak peek wee find Desmond en board the ship. He is being picked up by some men. Desmond wants to know why is doing there. He is completely lost. We find out that their names are Keamy and Omar. Keamy is from Vegas, and Omar is from Florida. They tell him that they are near Fiji. Keamy tells him that he is going to go get the dock.

Another man cries out to Desmond, "Hey". It is a another completely new character that says, "It is happening to you too huh?".

Notes:

Guest starring:
Daniel Faraday, Charlotte, Frank Lapidus, Alan Dale as Charles Widmore, Penelope, Graham McTavish as sergeant, Darren Keefe as Billy, Edward Conery as auctioneer, Marc Vann as doctor, Fisher Stevens as George Minkowski, Kevin Durand as Keamy and Anthony Azizi as Omar.

Other notes :

Interesting and possible links - earlier on Janaury 27 for those who played with the Find815.com, we wrote an article that gave our readers possible clues on the Island's background.

One of them included links to a book by M.K. Jessup, the Case of the Missing UFO that relates to the Philadelphia Project.

The following is a small excerpt from pages 34 through 35 of M.K. Jessup's book "The Case of the UFO" (Note - the book relates to the Philadelphia Expirement). It makes for a really interesting read.

"Suppose that some intelligent entity was directing a concentration of potential which could make small volumes of rarefied air rigid, could set up a sort of island in the gravitational or magnetic field, moving the island about as the spot of a searchlight is moved on thin clouds.

Such a thing would be invisible, would have many of the physical attributes of a solid body, but very small mass.

For example, its movement through the air would be wavelike, and would not envolve translation of the medium any more than the spot of the searchlight would require movement of the cloud which enabled the beam to attain visibility.

In moving, this island would simply "freeze" on the advancing edge and "thaw" on the trailing edge. In this way it could have almost infinite velocity, and also acceleration, just as the spot of the searchlight.

In this manner it would appear to be free of mass, and actually it would be free of mass, because only the force beam would move, not the air. Yet in resisting the impingement of a bird, a plane, or perhaps a meteor, it would have mass, and a very destructive mass at that.

A pilot flying a plane into such a body would have no warning. Yet if such a thing were a few hundred yards in diameter, its mass in resisting the plane would be thousands of pounds, perhaps tons. The analogy to a ship hitting an iceberg would be very close."

You can read more from that book here (Suggestion: open in a new tab, or click save as).

LOST: Season 4 Episode 4 - Eggtown

Thursday, February 21, 2008

The following was live-blogged so if any errors appear they will be corrected in due time.

The episode begins with Locke waking up. He goes to the kitchen and makes breakfast. Eggs and Melon. He brings it down to the basement area where he has Ben locked up. Locke tells Ben that those are the last two eggs. Locke also brought a book (VALIS by Philip K. Dick see Wikipedia article) from Ben's bookshelf. Locke tells him that he should read it, that he may have missed something and might find it the second time around.

Ben asks Locke why did he bring him down from the Rec Room to where he is now. Ben also asks where Miles is. Locke wants information from Ben. He wants to know about the spy that is on the ship.

Ben pokes at Lockes failures, that he cannot find the cabin, that he can't contact Jacob, and that he's even asking him (Ben) for help. So here were are just like old times, except I'm locked up in a different room, but you're more Lost then you ever were...

Locke becomes frustrated, takes Ben's breakfast, walks out the hallway and slams the plate unto the wall.

Funny Note: when Locke slams the breakfast platter on the wall, the wall bounces.

Locke walks out from the House. Kate sees this and asks Claire what was that all about. Sawyer walks in and says the coffee smells good. Sawyer says its odd that they are sitting on porches drinking coffee compared to what they have previously been through. Sawyer offers Kate some clothes. Sawyer questions why she stayed behind. Kate says that she is not spying for Jack. Sawyer says its about the pregnancy thing. Kate tells Sawyer to go home. Sawyer walks off.

The episode flashes to the future. A man says are you ready? Kate asks if there is a back door, the man says that he wants her to walk through the front door with her head held up high. She walks through a crowd of media.

We find out that she is in court. The people verses Catherine Anne Austin. The honorable Judge Arthur Gousable (Spelling). The bailiff reads out the charges: fraud, arson, assault on a federal officer, assault with a deadly weapon, grand larceny, grand theft auto, murder in the first degree.

Kate pleads not guilty.

The lawyers argue. The plaintiff argues that she is a flight risk, the very definition of one. The judge states that Kate is in custody till the hearing.
She is handcuffed.

In the next scene we go back to the Island, where Sun and Jin are talking about where they want to move to in the future. Jin proposes Alburquerque, New York, Seoul. Jin tells Sun that he is learning English so they can move to America. Sun says that she wants to move to Korea because she wants to raise the baby there. Jin reminds her
"our" baby.

Everyone on the beach notices Jack, Juliet, Charlotte, Ben. Jack tells Sun that Kate stayed with Locke. On the other side of the island, Locke opens a door and Kate sees that Locke has blood on his hands. He says that he has just killed a chicken. Kate asks him where Miles is at. They debate over the issue. Locke tells her that this is not a Democracy. Kate calls it a dictatorship. Locke says if it was she would be dead.

Kate walks out. She sees Hurley with food on a platter. Kate tells him that Locke said it was fine to bring the food to Miles. Kate cons Hurley into revealing that Miles is locked up in the boathouse. Kate tells Hurley that she isn't going to let him loose.

Kate walks over to the boathouse with the food. She walks in. Miles blatently tells her, "So the Arab traded you too huh?" Kate asks Miles if he knows who she is. What she did. Miles asks "What did you do?" Miles says he's exactly where he wants to be.
He wants one minute of someone's time. Miles then says he will reveal everything to her. He then says who do you thin.

The scene flashes to the future. She is in a holding room with her lawyer. Her lawyer says the best deal is a 15 year sentence and she serves 7 otherwise it will be 20 years minimal or a life sentence. Kate says that she wants to be put on the stand. Her lawyer says that he wants to make the trail about character. He says that he wants to bring "him" into the trail. We find out that the lawyer's name is Duncan. Kate says that he is not going to use her son.

The scene goes back to the beach. Juliet suggest that Jack call 911 on the satellite phone. Sun walks up and questions Jack. She wonders if Locke is right, and why Kate is with him.

Back in the barracks. Claire and Kate talk. Claire says that Locke spends all his time cooking. Claire asks that Kate pick up the baby. Kate declines. She is hesistant and doesn't want to. Kate is somewhat secretly envious at the way Claire has the ability to be a great mother. Claire says she should try it sometime.

The scene flashes to the future. The lawyer asks Kate not to fire him because they got a beating in the opening arguements. He calls Jack Sheppard to the witness stand. The plaintiff calls a rejection. The judge reminds the jury that the witness (jack) is a character witness and did not know Kate before her crimes occurred.

Kate's lawyer asks Jack how exactly he knows her so that they Jury may know. The lawyer points out to those who "don't read newspapers, watch tv, or look at things on the internet" jokely. He says that they were both passengers on flight 815. Jack says that he didn't know that Kate was a criminal till she eventually told him. Jack says he never met the federal marshall, that he died in the crash. Her lawyer asks Jack if he ever asked her if she was guilty. Jack says that he assumed that it it was a big mistake. He points out that only "8" survived the crash (even though in actual terms, there were more numbers then this). He says that he was hurt pretty badly and that had it not been for Kate he would have never reached the shore.

Kate stands up. She says that this is her trial and that she doesn't want Jack to say anything else.

The plaintiff lawyer asks Jack whether or not if he loves Kate. Jack says that he does not love Kate. Not anymore.

The scene flashes back to the island. Hurley and Sawyer are in the barracks hanging out. Kate knocks on the door. She walks in. Kate and Sawyer walk to the kitchen. He offers her some boxed Dharma branded wine. Sawyer tells Kate that she is a terrible liar. He figures that she wants to use him for something. He asks for what. She replies for Ben. She wants him to help her bust Ben out.

Sawyer knocks on Lockes door. He asks Locke if he wants to play backgammon. Locke accepts. Locke asks Sawyer if he thinks that he knows what he (Locke) is doing.
Locke asks him what the other people think. Sawyer says says "Baa" that they are sheep so they are predictable. Sawyer says that's the case with everyone except for
Kate. He wants his word that Locke will not do anything to her. Sawyer says that Kate wants to bust Ben out from where he is kept. Sawyer says that she knows
where Miles is being kept. Locke pulls out a gun and they go to the boathouse. They open the door. They flash their flashlights around. Miles is gone.

We find out that Kate and Miles are breaking into one of the houses. They go down to the basement. Kate pulls out a gun and shoots the lock open. We find out that they are breaking in to go see Ben. She tells Miles that he only has a minute to talk with Ben. Miles asks Ben if he knows who he is (Miles), who he works for, that he has spent a lot of energy to find him. He says he can tell his employer or he can lie.

That he can lie for $3.2 million dollars. Ben argues over this. He asks Miles what makes him think that he access to such things. Miles says that he doesn't want to be treated like the survivors of the crash. Miles tells Ben that he has 2 days, then they agree one week. Mile tells Kate everything about her background. He knows that she is a fugitive. Miles says that she should stay on the island. He says who knows maybe you didn't survive the crash in an eerie tone.

They walk up the basement stairs. Locke opens the door and points out his gun and yells at Kate to go back to her house. Miles stands alone in the stairway.

The scene goes to Kate where she is sitting on the couch listening to some music. Claire asks if she is fine. They talk for a while. Locke walks in. He tells Claire that he only wants to talk to her for a bit. Locke says that he wants to know what they said to each other. She reveals everything. That Miles will lie for Ben for $3.2 million dollars. Locke says that he doesn't want her around and wants her gone by the morning.

The scene flashes to the future. We see Kate's mother being strolled in by Duncan, Kate's lawyer. She has a breathing apparatus attached to her nose. Kate's mother asks if it is true that Kate is a hero. They argue over the past. Her mother says that she doesn't want to fight with her anymore. Kate asks her why she is there. Her mother says that "it all changed when she thought she (Kate) was dead". Her mother says that she has been given 6 months to live for the past 4 years. She says that she does not want to testify against her. Kate tells her then don't.

Her mother says that she wants to see her grandson. Kate looks in disbelief. She asks that she did this because she wanted to just make a deal. She say's that they are finished.

The scene goes back to the Island where Kate is walking into Sawyers room. He asks if she is ok. Sawyer apologizes. She tells him that Locke wants her gone by tomorrow. Sawyer tells her that he unbanishes her. They flirt. Sawyer says that this is his house. The toilet flushes in the other room. Sawyer jokingly says me and Montezuma's house.

Back on the back we find Charlotte and Daniel playing cards. Charlotte is testing Daniels memory capabilities (or remote viewing capabilities?). He ends up getting 2 out of 3 right. Jack and Juliet walk in on their conversation. Jack asks them why the people on the boat are not answering their phone. Charlotte reveals that they have another number they can use only in emergency. Juliet says that it is an emergency. Jack says to put the phone on speaker.

The phone rings. Regina answers the phone. She asks why are they calling this number. She asks about the helicopter and their friends. Regina says the helicopter never landed. Jack paces around in anxiety.

The scene goes back to the boathouse where Miles is tied up. Locke walks in. He says good morning. He pulls out a grenade. He tells Miles to open up his mouth. He stuffs the grenade in his mouth. He says that eventually that he (miles) will tell him everything. He says that Miles opens up his mouth that the grenade will explode (finally).

The scene goes to Sawyers house where the both of them (Kate and Sawyer) are making out. Kate tells him to stop. She is worried about the problem that the island brings with those who conceive on the island. She tells Sawyer to forget it. She tells him that she is not pregnant and very sure. Sawyer tells her that this would have been the worst thing in the world.

Kate tells him that its over. Sawyer tells her that she only did this so she could have a reason to split. He tells her that in a week she get angry with Jack and bounce back to him. Kate slaps him.

The scene goes back to the future to the courthouse. The plaintiff, the mother says that she will not testify due to medical reason. The judge grants a recess. The lawyers go to talk. They end up making a deal that she will not get jailtime provided she stays within the state of California. She says that she wants this to be over. They are all in agreement.

She tells the lawyer that she has a child that she is not going anywhere.

Kate walks out in the the parking garage. She ends up coming across Jack and thanking him. She tells him that she thinks Jack believes he lie of her being a hero.
Jack tells her that everything he said in there was a lie, including that he didn't love her when he still does.

She tells him that she will not go out with him tell he can get along with her baby. Then they can work things out. She rides off in a taxi. She goes home
and gets greeted by a nanny (??) and walks upstairs to see her child. We find out that his name is Aaron (is this Claire's child????)

The episode ends.

LOST: Season 4 Episode 3 - The Economist

Thursday, February 14, 2008

The episode begins with Sayid playing golf. He is met by a man. The man says that Sayid is the first person he's seen out on in the golf course that morning. We find out that the episode takes place in the Seychelle Islands (which is located in the Indian Ocean, northeast of Madagascar).

The man asks what he does for a living, Sayid says nothing, he says that he recieved a large sum from a settlement. Sayid tells him he is one of the Oceanic 6. He looks in disbelief. He says he remembers remembering about reading about the crash.

We find out that his name is Mr. Avenue (spelling?). Sayid shoots him point blank. The golf course sprinklers come on. Sayid walks away and leaves.

The episode progresses. Sayid is walking into a upscale restaurant. Sayid asks a woman in German "Is this seat free".
The woman says her name is Elsa. Elsa asks what brings him to Berlin. Sayid tells her that he is a head hunter. A corporate recruiter. Elsa tells him that she works for an Economist, the Economist is in Berlin once or twice a year. She asks Sayid where she knows him from. She agrees to go out with him to dinner. She gives him a map with a location for the restaurant at 8 o'clock (if he can find it). Sayid walks outside. He says that he has made contact. He throws his cell phone away.

The episode goes back to the Island. Sayid is looking a piece of paper that was in Naomi's possession. She was looking for Desmond. Juliet agrees to go get Desmond to see if he can clear things up. Sayid speaks with Jack and says that he will go get Charlotte from Locke. He brings Miles along.

Back on the other side of the Island, Locke and his group are walking in the forest, Sawyer asks Ben whether or not if he is going to give out the name of his source who is on the boat. Locke tells Sawyer he won't because that is the only thing keeping him alive. Locke bends over and looks at the soil. He is looking for the Cabin. The Cabin has disappeared. Ben tells Sawyer that he is looking for someone so he can know what to do next.

Hurley wants to set her free. Hurley says that he didn't sign up to take hostages. They debate over the issue. They are beyond compromise.

Back at the Helicopter scene, Jack and Kate talk, and Jack says that Kate should go with Sayid and Miles to go get Charlotte. Frank asks Jack where Sayid is from. He tells him that he is from Iraq. Frank asks if he was a diplomat. Jack tells him he was/is a torturer.

Sayid looks at Naomi's bracelet again. He asks Miles whether or not if he was close to her. Miles says no. Kate is disgusted by Miles male chauvenism.
Miles asks how Locke managed to break apart the entire group. Sayid doesn't tell him what group he was part of.

Going back to the future. We find out that Elsa and Sayid are going to the Opera. She debates about whether or not to bring along her pager. She leaves it behind.
Sayid says that he will bring it along. Elsa tells Sayid that her employer is old fashioned and likes old technology. Elsa asks why he is still in Berlin. Sayid originally
said he will be around for one week, but Sayid tells her that his job is taking longer then expected. Sayid tells her that Strausse awaits.

Going back to the Island, Daniel Faraday gets out his equipment. Jack asks Frank what Daniel's story is. Frank says he doesn't know most of the stuff he says is over his head. Daniel asks Frank for his phone. Regina (spelling?) answers the phone. She says that she can read his signal. Regina (spelling?) launches a beacon. It counts down in kilometers.

It comes within 5 meters. It is no where within sight. Regina (spelling?) and Daniel say that is very weird.

Sayid, Kate and Miles are walking around the Other's abandoned barracks. They hear noises. They go to investigate. They end up finding Hurley tied up in a closet.
Once Hurley is free, he tells them what is going on. He says that the woman (Charlotte) is still a hostage. He says that Locke is recieving orders from Walt.
Miles asks Hurley, where is Ben's house?

Back to the helicopter scene, the Payload finally arrives. Daniel 2:45.03 3:16:22(23). Thirty-one minutes. Daniel says this is not good. Frank says that Jack's friends are back. He can see Juliet and Desmond.

(Note: If you take the Daniel 2:45 into biblical context, the main quote is "...The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future. The dream is true and the interpretation is trustworthy." If you take Daniel 3:16 into biblical context the main quote is "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter...". Whether or not if either of these have any context to this episode or the show is open to speculation. Another note at hand is a scene that occurs later where it seems that Sayid touches either a Bible or a Quran. Again this is open to speculation.)

Back to the Barracks. Sayid, Miles, Kate, and Hurley look around Ben's house. Kate goes into one room and looks in a closet. She finds nothing.
Sayid who is in another room in and looks at a bookshelf. He eyes "The Holy (Bible or Quran?)" and touches it. He looks below and sees marks on the floor. He moves it.
The bookshelf opens like a door. Sayid finds a secret chamber. He goes in and explores.

He turns on the lights, and finds suits and various clothes. He opens a drawer and finds various amounts of currency. (Japanese Yen, Western type currency, others). He looks at the money. He opens another drawer, he finds a lot of passports. One is for New Zealand, one appears to be Russian, another appears to be Swiss.

The scene goes back to the room which Kate is in. She looks under the bed. She sees someone walk in. It is Sawyer. She yells "Sayid". Locke pulls a gun out.
Everyone has a gun pointed at them. We find out that Hurley ended up tricking everyone.

Hurley walks with Rosseau and put Sayid in a jailhouse. He finds Ben tied up. Ben tells Sayid that he lost a dollar because of him. He bet Locke that Sayid wouldn't be that stupid to take Hurley as bait.
He asks Ben, what do you know about friendship.

The scene goes back to the room where Kate and Sawyer are. She asks Sawyer why he is with Locke and his group and not with Jack's. Sawyer tells her that he isn't looking to leave, because he doesn't have anything back there for him.
Sawyer asks why Kate wants to go back. He reminds her that she has handcuffs and jail waiting for her backhome. Kate asks Sawyer how long they can play house. He asks her why don't we find out.

The scene goes back to the jailhouse. Locke brings in some iced tea. Ben says that he wants some. Locke apologizes for the theatrics. He tells him that Miles is somewhere else. Locke tells Sayid that neither Miles or Charlotte have
spoken out or revealed any information. Sayid tells Locke that by taking Charlotte back he can go to their boat. Locke reveals that Ben has an inside person on that boat.

Sayid tells Locke, that the day he trusts Ben is the day he sells his soul. Sayid tells Locke to give him Charlotte or there will be a war that they cannot stop.
Sayid tells Locke that he never expected him to give her to him for nothing.

The scene goes back to the Future. We find Sayid and Elsa in bed. Background music plays (Unintelligible lyrics: "If this all, that's all for good" ...and then...it is just that.. all for, all for good. That means that...love...). Elsa and Sayid have a personal conversation. We find out that the both of them are now in love. Sayid tells her no more secrets. He asks he what does she want to know. Elsa's beeper goes off. She gets up to go look at it. Sayid asks where Des Hotel Abalon (spelling?). Sayid tells Elsa that she must leave Berlin. Elsa finds out that Sayid has been playing her all along. She finds out that he has used her from the beginning. Sayid says that he is going to kill her employer.

She goes on a rant. Sayid says that he has a list. She fires a gun at him. She calls her employer and speaks in German. She tells her employer to leave to leave the hotel. Elsa walks out of the bathroom. Sayid shoots her. Her life slowly passes on. Sayid slower crawls towards her. He touches her hair, and closes her eye. He sheds a tear.

He touches her bracelet. This is the same one that Naomi owned.

Back at the helicopter scene Desmond asks Frank why Naomi was carrying around a photo of him (Desmond) and Penny. Frank says that he doesn't know. He sayd that she was senior management. Naomi says that they (Frank, Daniel, Charlotte, Miles) were hired by her. Frank breathes out, and looks at Daniel, and tells Desmond no.

Jack and Juliet see Sayeed walking down the hill with Charlotte. Jack asks where's Kate? Sayid tells him that she had decided to stay. Frank asks Sayid what happened to Miles. Sayid tells him that he traded him for Charlotte. Frank tells Sayid that he cheated. Frank tells him lucky for you (Sayid) he was a pain in his a**.

Charlotte and Daniel say that they are going to stay on the Island to do more research. Daniel tells Frank to stay on the same exact bearing that the came in no matter what. Jack and Juliet are also going to stay on the Island. Sayid ends up bring along the corpse of Naomi.

Frank, Desmond, Sayid, and the corpse end up flying off the island in the helicopter.

The scene goes back to the future. Sayid is shot, and takes off his shirt. He is in a veterinary office. He talks to a man. We find out that this man is
his employer (remember: Sayid said earlier on the Island: "...the day I trust Ben is the day I sell my soul...). We find out that his employer is Ben Linus. Ben is doesn't appear to be part of the Oceanic 6, but somehow he managed to get off the Island.

Ben tells Sayid that he has another name for him. Sayid tells Ben they know that they are after them now. Ben says "Good".

The episode ends.

LOST: Confirmed Dead - Season 4 Episode 2

Thursday, February 7, 2008

The episode starts off with ROV footage in the ocean. It is scouring the ocean floor in the search of something. As it is panning around the ocean, it comes across a plane. The explorer says that it is Oceanic flight 815.

We hear in a newscast, that Oceanic flight 815 was found in the Sunda Trench off the coast of Bali. The newscast proceeds and states that the Christiane I found the wreckage. This fits in perfectly with the Find815.com game.

We find out that a couple is watching this newscast. The male cries, his wifes asks him why he is so upset.

It then proceeds to Island and the man jumps out of the helicopter. It is pouring rain. He comes across Jack and Kate. We learn that the man's name is Daniel Faraday. Daniel says that he is there to rescue them.

Daniel says that there were four people including him on the chopper. We also learn that the chopper crashed due to an electrical storm.

On the other side of the Island, Locke has his eyes closed but facing the sky. Hugo says that he is going to get struck by lightning. Hugo says that its a monsoon. Locke tells him that the storm will pass.

Sawyer asks Locke where he got his powers. Locke says that he got his "powers" from walt. Locke says that he needs to go to a cabin in the woods.

Going back to Jack, Kate, and Daniel, they find Daniels equipment. He asks him why does he have a gas mask. Jack asks Daniel why he has a gun. Daniel's phone starts beeping, they run.

Locke tells Sawyer that a bullet went right through him but he was not harmed (Lockes father stole his kidney).

Going back to Jack, and Daniel, they come across the rocks where they come across another member who parachuted to the island (This is where Desmond killed Kelvin by smashing his head into the rocks).

We find out that Daniel is a physicist. Note: In a Find815.com cluehunt game, a season 4 clue was a suitcase with "Property of Queens College of Physics". Could this be his?

He find out that his name is Miles. He pulls out his gun and aims for Jack. Miles asks them where Naomi is. He asks if that is Kate. He says that Kate killed Naomi.

The next scene takes place in Inglewood, California - we come across Miles. He is in his car he is listening to a broadcast that says that 324 passengers are dead.
He knocks at the door of Mrs. Gardner. He says that they spoke on the phone earlier.

She tells him that its upstairs at the end of the hall. We find out that Mrs. Gardner is Walt's grandmother. Mrs. Gardner pays him. He tells her not to come up regardless of what she hears.

Miles plugs in a piece of equipment. We find out that Miles is a paranormal pyschic or a ghost hunter. Miles tells "Walt" here that he is not doing his grandmother any good. He asks him to tell him where it is.

He finds cash, and drugs. He tells him that he can go now.

Back on the Island we find out that "Tell my sister I love her." is code that I have a gun to my head.

Miles asks them to take him to Naomi's body.

They go to the scene of the body. Miles verifies that Kate didn't kill Naomi. Jack says that he has men around them with guns. Miles says, "How stupid do you think I am?" At which point everyone points their gun at Miles and Daniel. Apparantly Miles is a psychic that can read dead peoples presences but cannot do so with the living.

Medenine, Tunis

We confirm another aspect of the Find815.com game, the "Journal du Tunis"

We come across a new character: Charlotte - she says that she knows about the gate. The native tells her in French that the site is closed. She tells him to open it. She pays cash. We find out that she is some type of archeaologist (it turns out she's a anthropologist). She says that skeletal remains are that of a polar bear.

The other woman is probably as stunned as we are. A polar bear skeleton in Tunisia???

She keeps digging for what she knows must be there. She finds a collar. Its has the Hydra logo. (This leaves the question: "How did the polar bear get to Tunisia?")

The next scene takes place in the Bahamas.
We find a man (his name is Frank Lapidus) watching tv. The news tells us that Captain Seth Norris - NTSB... - the station goes offline - ...recovering the bodies will be next to impossible. They show bodies. They are broadcasting the skeleton of Seth Norris, the pilot of Oceanic 815. He calls the Oceanic hotline. He asks for a supervisor. He tells him that that is not him.

He says that is not Seth Norris (this was the person who the monster killed in season 1). He says that there is no ring on the body. He has worn the ring since high school. He says that he was supposed to be flying Oceaning 815 on that day (note: there are a lot of parrelels to "rings" in the series, Sun had lost her wedding ring in an earlier season).

(1-888-548-0034: Is the Oceanic Air hotline, if you call it this is the message:
"Thank you for calling the Oceanic Airlines flight 815 hotline. Information is updated as the investigation proceeds. Investigations are thorough and, as such, may take a period of time to complete. At this time we do not have any additional information regarding the crash of flight 815. If you are a family member or relative of a passenger on Oceanic flight 815, we are sorry for your loss. Detailed information is given during the daily family briefings. This briefing updates families on the progress of the investigation and allows for questions to be asked of the medical examiner or coroner and other parties connected to the investigation. Please contact your accident coordinator or call back later for more information."
)

Going back to the other side of the island, Frank Lapidus crawls around. He bumps into a cow. Meanwhile, Ben shoots Charlotte. Locke touches her throat to see if there is a pulse. We find out that she is wearing a bullet proof vest.

Going back to the other side of the island, Jack, Kate, and Sayid come across Frank Lapidus, they find the chopper. It is intact. They all grin.

As the new scene begins, we see Naomi and Matthew, (Matthew Abaddon was the Oceanic lawyer that confronted Hurley)This is the team, they have you (Naomi). Matthew tells her there are no survivors. Everything relies you getting them in and preventing them from getting them killed.

Kate and Daniel carry the body of Naomi away. He calls George Makowski. The woman tells Miles that he is not available right now. They say that they are going to carry Naomi into the helicopter. Frank says that he will carry her on the next run.

Caution: This is the final scene:

Juliet Burke. Frank says that she wasn't on that plane. We are here for Benjamin Linus. Things go wild.

Ben says that he has answers and information that he needs. He asks him what the monster is. Ben says that he doesn't know. He says that her name is Charlotte Lewis. Charles Staples Lewis (C.S. Lewis), jul 2, 1989. David and Jeanette. Raised in brownsgrove....attended Oxford (Note,
She is there with Miles Straume. Franklin Peters.

Political News: Mitt Romney drops out of the 2008 Presidential Race

Mitt Romney has just called it quits and dropped out of the 2008 Presidential race. Romney said it would "forestall the launch of a national campaign and be making it easier for Senator Clinton or Obama to win."

On the night of Super Tuesday, he vowed that he would remain in the race till the Republican national convention but would meet with his campaign advisors to see what direction his campaign would go.

"In this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign be a part of aiding a surrender to terror. This is not an easy decision. I hate to lose..."

"If this were only about me, I'd go on. But it's never been only about me. I entered this race because I love America, and because I love America, in this time of war I feel I have to now stand aside for our party and for our country."

On the Republican side John McCain, Mike Huckabee and a distant third, Ron Paul remain.

On the Democratic side Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and a distant third, Mike Gravel remain.

Updated: In New Mexico, the Clinton and Obama campaigns have both requested a recount of the votes. The New Mexico Democratic party has agreed to the recount. We may not know a winner for days. All ballots, provisional and absentee have been counted, right now as it stands, Clinton leads with about a 1000 votes. In the worst case scenario, it could possibly take all the way till February 15th. Read more at KRQE.

Political News: Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama Neck and Neck in New Mexico

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are neck and neck in New Mexico.

They have been seperated by as much as 500 votes, and as narrowly as 117 votes. Hillary Clinton is currently leading by 0.5 percent, as 2 percent of the vote, 4 precincts (3 in Rio Arriba County, 1 in Sandoval County) and provisional ballots have yet to be tallied. The provisional ballots are to be counted starting at 9:00AM MT (10:00AM CT).

The vote tallies in Rio Arriba County and Sandoval county are being delayed due to the snow that had impacted the vicinity. The national gaurd had been called out to Chama (in Rio Arriba County) yesterday. Chama had recieved more then 33 inches of snow.

Updated 7:50pm CT: A private accounting firm is counting the remaining ballots starting with the 16,000 provisional ballots. The delay is still present due to the heavy snow in northern New Mexico. Lawyers from both Clinton and Obama's camp are inside watching the counting process and making sure it runs smoothly.

Governor and former presidential candidate, Bill Richardson has not yet endorsed either candidate. Bill Clinton attempted to woo his support by spending Superbowl Sunday with him watching the big game.

Political News: Sadly, The Ron Paul rEVOLution is Dead

Super Tuesday was a very interesting night. Mike Huckabee suprised everyone by winning West Virginia and by picking up a couple of states in the south.

The votes were all counted. The people have spoken.

Barack Obama made gains across the US. Hillary Clinton won the "prized" state of California as did McCain. Mitt Romney did not expect Mike Huckabee to do so well as he did tonight. Romney will probably have to think about what direction he needs to take his campaign.

Unfortunately for Ron Paul, tonight was not his night, in spite of how well he did placing second in the Nevada and Lousiana caucuses, he did not win in a single state.

"Ron Paul has already said that he was 99.9% sure that he would not run as an Independent or as a Libertarian."

Ron Paul is/was the dark horse internet hyped candidate of 2008. He seems to be out of luck now as the majority of delegates now are to be awarded to the other candidates.

Mike Gravel is still in the race, but his support is dwindling. It doesn't seem that Ron Paul will get a chance to win the Republican nomination. The reality is if Ron Paul doesn't have a chance at the Republican nomination for president, he more then likely won't have a chance at the nomination for vice-president.

Ron Paul scored an average of 4 percent support nationwide, as a comparison in 1988 in the general election he polled at less then 1 percent nationwide, without the support of the todays techonology. It now seems without doubt that the "Ron Paul Revolution" is dead or has run out of steam.

What will the Ron Paul campaign do? What other tricks does it have up its sleeves? It has already used the unique idea of utilizing a blimp. It has already utilized the idea of using aerial forces to spread the message by flying around "blackout" areas where he was not allowed to debate. It has already used the viral force of the internet all to no avail.

To use a Biblical analogy, Saul slew his thousands, but David slew his tens of thousands.

Will Ron Paul's current support dwindle in the light of the recent election numbers? What will his next steps be? We can only watch the news or check up online to see what will happen next.

Ron Paul has already said that he was 99.9% sure that he would not run as an Independent or as a Libertarian.

As a prediction, more then likely the internet and various media sources across the world will now focus their eyes on Obama, Clinton, McCain and Huckabee however fair or unfair as it may be, as the former candidates of 2008, and 2007 become relics of Alexa's Wayback Machine and food for Google's web crawling spiders.

Mitt Romney, Mike Gravel, and Ron Paul will have to put up one major fight in order to win any type of nomination. All in the short term seems unlikely.

Ron Paul is a good man, as are the other candidates, but the world is an unfair place to live.

In spite of negative things occurring in various campaigns, hopefully positive things will await us in the future. God help us.
